The distribution box is divided into power distribution box and lighting distribution box, both of which belong to the final equipment of the distribution system. Both are strong electricity.

The incoming line of the lighting distribution box is 220VAC/1 or 380AVC/3, with a current below 63A. The load mainly consists of lighting fixtures (below 16A) and other small loads,

Air conditioning units in civil buildings can also be powered by lighting distribution boxes. The selection of lighting distribution circuit breakers is generally distribution type or lighting type (with medium or small short-term overload multiples).

The incoming line of the power distribution box is 380AVC/3, mainly used for the distribution of electric motors and other power equipment. When the total incoming current of the lighting distribution line is greater than 63A, it is also classified as a power distribution box. Power distribution circuit breakers should be of distribution type or power type (medium to high short-term overload ratio).

The main differences are:

1. Different functions, the power distribution box is mainly responsible for supplying power for the common use of power or power and lighting, such as exceeding the 63A level, non terminal distribution, or higher-level distribution of lighting distribution boxes; The lighting distribution box is mainly responsible for the power supply of lighting, such as ordinary sockets, motors, lighting tools and other electrical equipment with small loads.

2. The installation methods are different. Although both are terminal devices of the distribution system, the installation methods are also different due to their different functions. The power distribution box is floor mounted, while the lighting distribution box is wall mounted.

3. The biggest difference between power distribution boxes and lighting distribution boxes due to different loads is that they are connected in different ways. Therefore, power distribution boxes are mostly three-phase load leads, while lighting distribution boxes have single-phase electricity leads.

4. Due to different capacities, power distribution boxes have a larger capacity and more circuits than lighting distribution boxes. The main loads of lighting distribution boxes are lighting fixtures, ordinary sockets, and small motor loads, with smaller loads and mostly single-phase power supply. The total current is generally less than 63A, and the single output circuit current is less than 15A, while the total current of power distribution boxes is generally greater than 63A.

5. Due to differences in volume, the two types of distribution boxes have different internal circuit breakers due to their different capacities, and the volume of the boxes may also vary. Usually, the volume of power distribution boxes is larger.

6. Different requirements, lighting distribution boxes are generally allowed to be operated by non professionals, while power distribution boxes are usually only allowed to be operated by professionals.

The maintenance and upkeep of the distribution box during use cannot be ignored, and the following points should be paid attention to: moisture-proof, high-temperature resistant, corrosion-resistant gases and liquids, etc. When carrying out maintenance work, the following three points should be noted: first, before cleaning the distribution cabinet, be sure to disconnect the power supply and then clean it. If it is cleaned while powered on, it is easy to cause leakage, short circuit, and other situations. So before starting cleaning, be sure to check if the circuit has been disconnected; Secondly, when cleaning the distribution cabinet, it is important to avoid residual moisture in the cabinet. If moisture is found, it should be wiped clean with a dry cloth to ensure that the cabinet can only be powered on in a dry condition. Remember not to use corrosive chemicals to clean the distribution cabinet, and avoid touching corrosive liquids or air. If the distribution cabinet comes into contact with corrosive liquids or air, it is easy to cause its surface to corrode and rust, affecting its appearance and not conducive to its maintenance.
